Guide To Running a One Day Entrepreneurship Conference

The Jacobson Institute for Youth Entrepreneurship partners with communities interested in creating a daylong entrepreneurship conference exposing secondary students to entrepreneurship as a viable career option. This all day program brings together students and educators for a day of networking, brainstorming, listening to speakers, and education.

While learning the nuts and bolts of business ownership, participants:

  • Hear start-up stories from young entrepreneurs who started successful businesses while in high school or college,
  • Attend sessions designed to assist young people in turning their hobbies into businesses,
  • Network with other students interested in or operating businesses,
  • Learn about the college-level entrepreneurial classes offered by the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center and find out how University of Iowa students start businesses at the Bedell Entrepreneurship Learning Laboratory, a student business incubator on campus.
